Solar Eclipse in Singapore - 22 July 2009
A solar eclipse will occur on Wednesday, 22 July 2009. The path of the Moon's umbral shadow begins in India and crosses through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. In some parts of these countries, observers will experience a total solar eclipse.
In Singapore, observers will not experience a total eclipse but a partial one (weather permitting). At maximum, about 10% of the Sun will be covered. Singapore will experience the eclipse on 22 July 2009 from 8:40 a.m. to 9:44 a.m. The maximum (10% covered) will occur at 9:11 a.m.
Please note that it is dangerous to observe the Sun with your unaided eyes. To observe the Sun safely, you need to use a solar viewer. You can order the viewers through us. Local delivery charge of $3 applies. More details here.
